Weiss is doing great work

This isn't the first book I've read by Brian Weiss, and if he keeps writing, it certainly won't be the last. Whether you believe in past lives or not, which I do, the fact that past life regression can cure a mountain of ills is astounding. Weiss' new book, co-written with his daughter, is a collection of stories told to him by the people who've been regressed, and cured.
Considering that reincarnation is the norm throughout most of the world's religions, and was part of Christianity until the 5th century, lends credence to its validity. What loving parent wouldn't give their child chance-after-chance to get things right, rather than condemn them to eternal punishment after one try(lifetime). The idea of only one lifetime, only makes sense if you wish to control people by fear, not by the loving God that Christians believe theirs to be.
Weiss' new book is broken up into chapters that tell stories dedicated to a particular aspect of what visiting your past lives can do for you. Chapter 1 shows us how we're all connected. Stories show how synchronicity works by having attendees to Weiss' classes sitting next to the one person who holds the key to whatever problem they might be having. It shows how a loving universe prompts certain people into our orbit to show, or tell us something important to our lives.
Chapter 2 goes into how some past live can be validated through searches on the Internet, or visiting towns with a familiarity not possible in the regressed present lifetime.
I think one of the most important aspects of past life regressions, which is discussed in Chapter 3, is how visiting a past life and reliving a trauma, can dissipate current emotional problems. Maybe it's the greater understanding stemming from a current life that makes the emotional pain go away, regardless of whether the regressed person is only using their imagination, as some would argue.
Throughout the chapters is in this 300-plus page book, example after example are given as to the healing aspects of past life regressions, and Brian Weiss is hardly some new age guru. He's a trained psychiatrist from Yale who happened upon past life regression by accident when one of his patients slipped into a past life that cured a present ill. He discusses this in previous books of which I forget the details, but again, it's like the universe needed this amazing man to help validate the idea that we live life after life, not graduating until we learn to love unconditionally. What a wonderful way of looking at life.
I think that most important part of past life regression, is to teach us that we don't really lose anyone. We live life-after-life, and that karma is just us wanting to come back to enjoy the opposite side of our last life so that we can understand things completely. This leads me to believe that the universe was set up to run in an orderly and very loving manner, with a God at the head who loves us unconditionally and gives us all the time and opportunity to become like him, and any good parent would.
Weiss' book is filled with so many testimonials of real people who've been healed by his work, that it's a total joy to read. Take a break from the bad news on t.v. to learn that the world really is a good and fair place to live in. I will be giving this book to anyone I know who's depressed, and feeling defeated by life. Thank you Dr. Brian Weiss.

Truly inspiring

Just saw Dr. Weiss last night with his beautiful daughter Amy at the Coral Gables Congregational Church for the presentation of their new book. I had read many of his books, but seeing and listening to him is a whole different experience. This man is so inspiring and humble. His book (and conference) are just what I needed during a difficult period of my life. His words gave me hope. Life on Earth can be a truly magical experience, particularly during this period in history of so much change, humanity is little by little waking up and this world becoming a better place, thanks to the work of special people like Dr. Weiss. This book is different to his previous books in that it relates the stories sent to him by people from all around the world, how past life regression has changed their lives, how just the fact that they embrace the idea has been a pivotal change for some. It can do the same for your life and mine as well :)

If Only All Those Stories Were A Bit More Miraculous . . . .

It is said that being regressed to a past life can sometimes have a profound effect on the person regressed. Unfortunately, this book proves that reading about the past lives of others can sometimes be profoundly unaffecting. I read Miracles Happen: The Transformational Healing Power of Past-Life Memories twice. First, on a Kindle I borrowed to buy and read it, and then a hard copy from the library. I read the hard copy, because I wanted to make sure reading on a Kindle wasn't affecting my view of it. There was no difference. Even though the Weiss' book had many, many stories, only a very few seemed particularly interesting. Maybe I've read too many past life stories. Or maybe I'm on a different wavelength than Brian and Amy Weiss. Or maybe, where the Omega Institute stories are concerned, you had to be there to experience the happenings to fully appreciate them.
All the references to the Omega Institute bothered me a bit, but not as much as it would have in the past. Years ago, when I was more intensely interested in discovering past lives, I would have been miffed about all the testimonies from people who discovered their past lives at workshops that cost hundreds of dollars, or on cruises that cost thousands. In fact, I think I even clobbered Dr. Weiss in a past book review about that matter. My miffiness was not rooted in envy of those with more opportunities or money, but in the idea that spiritual discoveries seemed to have a price tag. Also, Dr. Weiss' past life CD did nothing to help me discover any past lives. It just put me to sleep. Metaphysical research and discussions were going nowhere, regardless of how much time I spent studying and discussing. I was becoming very disenchanted with the New Age world.
But then, some time later, I had a dream. I dreamt I was visiting a mental hospital--a dark place filled with despair. I was filled with utter despair just standing in the hallway. Then, I found a few bright yellow coins, and somehow knew they were associated with Brian Weiss and past life regression. The coins were so bright that they started to light up the hallway, that light then blew open the closed doors of the dark mental hospital, and I walked outside to a beautiful late afternoon with bright blue skies. When I woke up, I immediately thought that if past life regression could keep people out of mental wards, then it was worth its weight in gold, regardless of if I believed in it or not.
That is why I stick with Brian Weiss. Even when his books bore me. Even when I strongly disagree with some of his book recommendations on his website. Even when I don`t know for sure any longer what I believe about life and death. I stick with Dr. Weiss because he's like the godfather of past life regression. I don't think he's in it for the money, either. He's also a person someone from a Judeo-Christian background can feel comfortable with, and not have to worry he's going to go way off in left-field in a book or video. And he comes across really, really well in his videos. He's like the Mr. Rogers of the New Age neighborhood. I think his strength lies in his voice, not his writings.
Talking of videos, for those of you who do feel resentful about not being able to afford a workshop at the Omega Institute, they currently have a 90 minute video on their website with Dr. Weiss that includes a 30 minute regression. It's free to watch and free to do the regression at home. It didn't work for me. I discovered no past lives. I fell asleep during the regression both times that I watched it. But that's not important. If past life regression does work for others in helping them conquer their psychological problems and fears, especially their fear of death, it is indeed worth its weight in gold.
